Five glorious days exploring the hills and vineyards of Barolo in Piedmont: a series of half-day hikes and optional longer walks, superb gastronomy, exceptional Barolo wine estates, and a truffle-hunt searching for Tuber Magnatum Pico to put on our pasta.

Itinerary
Day 1/ Arrival in Piemonte
Arrival in Piemonte. Dinner and overnight in the Alta Langa.
Day 2/ Bossolasco to Roddino
A half-day walk through the wooded Alta Langa hills takes us from Bossolasco to Roddino. Van transfer or optional afternoon walk from Roddino on to Monforte d’Alba, where we stay in a stunning 4* hotel for the next four nights.
Day 3/ Monforte to La Morra via Barolo
Half-day walk from Monforte d’Alba to La Morra via Barolo town and the classic Langhe landscape of vineyards, woods and farmsteads. In the afternoon we team up with a local trifolau truffle hunter and his trusted dog, to search for truffles in the woods.
Day 4/ Monforte to Castiglione Falletto
Half-day walk from Monforte d’Alba along a ridge to the picturesque village of Castiglione Falletto, where we visit to an award-winning small Barolo producer. Transfer back to Monforte or optional walk from Castiglione Falletto on to Serralunga d’Alba. Evening wine-tasting followed by pre-dinner cheese-tasting in Monforte.
Day 5/ Alba Truffle Fair and Roddi to Verduno
Morning visit to the historic city of Alba to check out the bustling White Truffle Fair. Afternoon optional half-day walk from Roddi through vineyards and hamlets either to the town of Verduno, or further along up to La Morra.
Day 6/ Departure
Departure and onward travel.
